Amazon - the French scapegoat

It seems that the French government is angry with Amazon for daring to sell books cheaply, and thereby threaten the existence of many book shops in the French high street.

France is a very badly governed country in which many people are poor.  Poor people have to buy cheaply, and so have an obvious incentive to shop online.  If the French government gave a damn about French high streets, then they would start fixing the country's broken economy instead of looking for scapegoats.
