White flight and integration

At least one national newspaper today is reporting about white flight, which means white people are leaving inner cities to live in the suburbs.  They leave because the inner cities are increasingly being taken over by immigrants.  Some people reckon that the reason for this is an unwillingness on the part of many immigrants to integrate, which may or may not be the case.

Integration has been a touchy subject for many years now.  Take for example the persecution of the late Ray Honeyford, a headmaster from Bradford who dared to write an essay in an academic magazine about the failings of many Asian families.

Why does Britain have mosques?  Synagogues?  Temples?  Because far too many immigrants choose to live insular lives.  If they want to be religious, they can go to church - and to be fair many of them do.  If immigrant communities in this country were more inclined to integrate, then there might be less white flight.
