Post offices under threat

Anne Manger used to run the post office in Oakham in Leicestershire, until she was found to have committed a major fraud.  The intention of the fraud was to keep the branch open and fully staffed by pretending it was solvent - which is no excuse, and her jail sentence is richly deserved.

But why do the British people continue to vote in elections for politicians who sit by idly while one post office after another closes down?  If you want a post office in your town or village, then vote for one.  Is that so hard to grasp?
