Have you seen the bomber command thug?

Police are hunting the man who vandalised the bomber command memorial.  I do not know who this person is, and neither do I condone what he did.  However I also am not hugely bothered about whether or not he is identified.

The are probably hundreds or maybe even thousands of acts of vandalism taking place every day in this country.  How is this one act of vandalism any worse than any other?

More importantly, what kind of a country do we live in where we have such a memorial?  Bomber command were murderers, and to commemorate them makes about as much sense as commemorating Jack the Ripper.

  1. Why do you bother to post such uninformed seditionary crap. At long last the sacrifice made by so many in Bomber Command has been rightly recognised. Just look at the statistics of those who died in Bomber Command - more than 55,000 dead - life expectancy of just a few weeks. My father served in 97 Squadron and was shot down. Thankfully he survived, but was injured and it probably contributed to his early death. When war broke out he was working in Argentina - he didn't have to join up, but like thousands of others he was prepared to put his life on the line to prevent the Nazi beast from taking over the UK. Brave men they all were; murderers they were not.

  2. My post was neither uninformed or seditionary. What you call the Nazi beast did not try to take over the UK. The UK went to war against Germany from choice, and Bomber Command murdered innocent people in Germany (and other countries) from choice.

You make it clear that your father acted from choice, and I believe you. You say they were brave, but where is the bravery in murder? Also, you say they were not murderers, but you are plainly wrong.
