I have previously written about Unite Against Fascism, the vicious communist outfit which does its best to stifle free speech in this country.
They appear to have found a kindred spirit in Tom Rutland, the current president of the Oxford University Student Union. The Oxford Union recently invited EDL leader Tommy Robinson to speak, but then cancelled the invitation owing to safety fears.
Rutland is quoted by the BBC as saying:
There is no value in inviting or hosting hate speakers in the name of
'free speech' when they themselves do not believe in free speech nor a
free society, and stand on a platform of oppressing people because of
their race, religion, gender or sexuality.
The EDL is not concerned with race or gender or sexuality, and neither are they opposed to free speech. Rutland however appears to have no interest in free speech for anyone he disagrees with.
The EDL concerns itself merely with Islam. Islam is based upon a book called The Koran, which preaches:
I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore
strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. (8:12)
If the comments attributed to Mr Rutland are correct, then perhaps he would like to admit that an ideology which calls upon its followers to decapitate anyone of a different persuastion is the enemy of free speech.
Is Mr Rutland a Muslim? He certainly sounds like a communist.
