Do we really want foreign nurses?

British nurses are being squeezed out as the NHS recruits record numbers from Spain and Portugal.

So reports the Daily Express.

While I am sure that there a lot of very pleasant nurses in both Spain and Portugal, I am not sure we ought to be employing them in NHS hospitals when we could be employing our own people.

Also, there have been problems caused in the NHS by foreign nurses whose English is not up to scratch.  These include the case of a patient with a nut allergy who was given a pudding which contained nuts.  The patient could have died as a result, but fortunately did not.

But then, knowing that your loved ones might perish needlessly in an NHS hospital is all part of the fun of electing the worthless LibLabCons to govern Britain.
